Equestrian sport: myths and reality

1. Equestrian sport is the most dangerous sport.
Any sport increases the risk of injury. Equestrian sport is no exception. Absolutely avoiding falls will not work. Not a single sporting achievement in this sport was given to an athlete without these troubles.
There are various types of equestrian sports. The most popular of them: show jumping and dressage. Less popular, but still a form of equestrian sport, which is included in the program of the Olympic Games, is triathlon. This is an equestrian sport that consists of riding, field trials or cross-country and overcoming obstacles.
In dressage – the most elegant form of equestrian sport, a rider and a horse ride a previously defined pattern and perform various elements. Dressage is the art of driving a horse, resulting in a complete understanding between the rider and the animal.

Jumping is a discipline to overcome obstacles. This equestrian sport is popular, spectacular and truly extreme. In the top 10 ranking of deadly sports compiled by experts, he still, fortunately, does not fall. According to statistics, it is outstripped by long skydiving, deep-sea diving, boxing, rock climbing, etc.
If you have never ridden, equestrian clubs offer the so-called “rental” – riding lessons in order to teach you to sit in the saddle and control the animal in a basic way. The first lesson will be held on the cord – the so-called rope, which is held in hand. During such a training, the horse moves in a circle. For the first time, the instructor will select a calm and complaisant horse.
If you deal with a professional, be in special shoes and a protective helmet, follow all safety rules, riding lessons will be no more dangerous than classes in the gym. And the pleasures for body and soul, you will get much more.
If a person is afraid to fall, dressage is best for him. For gambling people, the most suitable equestrian sport is jumping. But first you need to get a general idea of ​​riding, and then decide what you like best.
2. Equestrian sport – an expensive sport
Equestrian sport is one of the most expensive and elite sports. It coexists in ratings with golf, tennis and sailing. The cost of one horseback riding lesson is 400 – 800 hryvnias in Kiev, depending on the club.
Of the equipment for regular classes you will need:
– helmet;
– boots or boots with leggings;
– breeches.
The total cost of equipment from famous brands will cost you from $ 1,000. You can come to the first lesson in sneakers or boots without zippers and decor. At the trial lesson, the instructor will issue a helmet at the club. There is an opportunity to rent a horse for rent for a month or more.

If the budget does not allow, and the child loves horses very much, fortunately, there are still public schools. To get there, the child must be physically prepared and pass the selection. Sometimes, without the financial ability to practice, people become volunteers – they help take care of the horse (work with the horse), and in exchange agree on riding lessons.

3. Equestrian bends legs (especially girls)

Horse riding is not able to bend legs beautiful by nature. On the contrary, all muscle groups work during training. Training has a positive effect on such systems as: respiratory, digestive, nervous. People who have a sedentary lifestyle, horse riding helps to correct problems with posture.
